Yearly Schedule

The Boulder High Boys Basketball staff providers options throughout the entire year.  

The following is a example schedule

 

 

In-Season

 

Early November - We will host pre-season team camps that are open to anyone interested in playing basketball.  These team camps will vary in time as well as what grade levels will be in what time slot.  These camps are focused around giving players an opportunity to focus in on the fundamental skills the coaching staff will be looking for during Try-Outs and Team Placement.

 

November through Early March - In-season mandatory practices for all players on all teams.  Practice is 6 days per week including saturdays (some Saturday's may be optional or shoot arounds).  Saturday's will also be focused on all level practices and fostering relationships among the levels.

 

 

 

Off-Season

 

March/April - All players teams and coaches take this time off.

 

May - In the spring players that are not actively playing another Boulder High Sport are welcome to attend our voluntary spring workouts (specific schedule will be posted on schedule page at www.pantherhoops.com).  These workouts are typically very focused on competitive play and may be a few times a week.  This will also include weights & conditioning.

 

May 1st - Incoming 8th graders are welcome to join our off-season workouts as long as they are not actively playing a spring middle school sport.  No sign-ups or advanced notice neccesary - just show up!  Please reach out directly to the varisty coach (matthew.smith@bvsd.org) to ensure your contact information is added to TeamSnap.

 

Late May/June

a. Youth Camps (high school players are required to coach these).

b. Pre-Tournament Practices - these are not off season workouts. These are practices which players should 

     attend in order to fully prepare for the tournaments we compete in each weekend.

c.High School Team Camps - Players entering grades 9-12 will be invited to attend various team camps within

   Colorado as well as out of state.  Depending on the number of participants, we may host several teams at each team camp

 

July

In this month we typically focus on individual player development.  We do not play much and the primary focus is on continuing to develop individual skills and fundmentals while also concentrating on the weight room!!  We may go out of state for additional tournaments, but this is limited to player and coach availability.  Workouts will be offered and scheduled based off of level of interest and the coaching staffs availability.

 

August - All players and teams take this month off.

 

September and October

In the fall players that are not actively playing another sport at Boulder High School are welcome to join our voluntary workouts.  During the fall, teams will focus on skill development, weight training, conditioning, and open gyms.  We will focus on indvidiual development and helping players make the strides needed to earn a spot on a team.  We additionally may offer multiple levels of teams to participate in a fall league.  This fall league offers 2-3 games per week along with 2-3 practices per week.  All of the scheduling and timing is dependant on player and coach availability.
